SUNPOCKET originated in France in 1976. The foldable construction was invented by a genius skiing frenchman in Oyonnax ”the plastic valley”. Frustrated that sunglasses would break when they fell of and that they where difficult to store in a pocket he decided to do something about it. He felt the need to create a pair of sunglasses that could fold and fit in a pocket. Perfect for skiing or other active sports. Since then Sunpocket has become synonymous with this innovative eyewear system. Today, 50 years later, we still only focus on foldable functional eyewear and accessories.
Deriving from roots in action sports and outdoor pursuits, the visual hardware has evolved with advanced technical developments, creating premium foldable lightweight sunglasses with 100% UV protection. Our core belief is still the same: Creating a lightweight, durable, perfect fitting, foldable product made for everyday adventures where style and smile is at the heart of everything we do.

All Sunpockets are proudly crafted in Mauritius by people with roots going back to the original Sunpocket factory in France. Our close collaboration and their productions skills makes for the finest Sunglasses in our segment. This is an active choice, when everyone is producing in the far east we believe in sticking to our roots and fuel a great relationship going back many years. Sunpocket are ultra lightweight performance sunglasses, born out of an active lifestyle in 1976 with a premium feel and exceptional durability. The frames are designed to resists impact, flexing and temperature shifts, ideal for active use. We are proud of a quality that lasts by using consistent moulding technology, ensuring precise fit, stability and long-lasting shape retention.
Made with Green Grilamid® BTR 600 LS. A bio-based high-performance polyamide material made from castor-oil derivatives instead of fossil feedstock, which means that over 60% of all material is bio-based. All solid black sunglasses are made by end-of-life fishing nets collected in European ports. The material is called Nylo® The nets are recovered, cleaned and processed into a stable eyewear material that holds its shape over time while remaining lightweight for everyday use. Instead of being discarded or incinerated, the nets become the raw material for a durable frame.
